Y'know I have nicknames for my closest of courtiers.
I always had a nickname. Bessie, my father always called me Bessie. Someone said it was because of his fling with Bessie Blount, but I do not believe it. I believe he called me Bessie because he loved me.
My second Governess was called by a nickname too, Kat. I loved her dearly as she was related also to my poor lost Mother, Queen Anne. Always telling me secret tales of wonder and why Mother died, Kat started my lifelong goal of clearing Mother's name for the world. I also began giving close people nicknames too, unless they objected of course.

Nicknames
By Henry Tudor

My father began my obsession to rename my friends
They know they are now special by Royal consent
Bessie she started to be his old flame
He then renamed me with Bessie, we were family again.

Kat, she was my new Mother she knew Anne’s life tale
She would tell me her stories, intrigues never fail.
But then came the Admiral, an admirable man
So nicknames stayed with me, and I never ran.

Dear Robert Dudley he became my “Eyes” friend
He wanted to marry, but his last wife’s bad end.
Then “Spirit” my dear Cecil the only man I now trust
He saved me when Mary was completely unjust.

“Spirits” son and heir then took over his reigns
Little “Pigmy” dear Robert, true blood in his veins.
Hatton in his new garden, a fool with a bet
I bailed him and saved him, his fortune he let.

He stayed in my centre a friend for dear “Water”
“Mutton” dear Christopher, a lamb to the slaughter.
The accent was strong from Walter’s own mouth
Raleigh dear “Water” you sound so uncouth.

Now more serious talk from my spy in my own court
Walsingham, dear Francis knows how battles are fought.
He saved me from Scot Mary, her plan went astray
He found out she was planning to bury me away.

Alencon’s ridiculous Duke, Francis the “Frog”
He thinks we will marry, I’d prefer my own dog.
So now if you received a name from my throne
Accept it with grace, it’s for you, it’s your own.

Kat
By Henry Tudor (alias Ray Irving)

Dearest Kat you serve me well
You made me laugh when life was hell.
You sowed the seeds of Mothers life
You tried to make me, become a wife.

But though I loved you with all my soul
You did attempt to secure your goal.
To keep my step mother away from me
You tried your best from jealousy.

Your secret desire for Seymour man
Made you try to force my hand.
I know all that you thought and did
So do not try against my bid.

Stay by my side my dearest Kat
But let me decide where I am at.
I will become Queen on my own
No need for men, I’ll reign alone.

By giving my closest courtiers nicknames it made them stand out at my court. It also gave me the upper hand as authority, no man could have the final word.

Here are the men and their nicknames.
